Australians have had a difficult start to 2020. From devastating bushfires to the COVID-19 pandemic, the very way we live and work has changed.
COVID-19 is the greatest health and economic crisis of our generation. We owe a debt of gratitude to the frontline workers who have helped us through the past few months, and to everyone who has followed social distancing guidelines to reduce community transmission.
While we must remain vigilant to local outbreaks, I believe it is important to make the case for greater economic stimulus.
An important part of any recovery is a serious investment in local infrastructure projects.
Our community is rapidly growing. We need all levels of Governments to invest in our community to support local jobs and stimulate our local economy.
These include major infrastructure projects like bringing forward the Prospect Highway upgrade, the expansion of Bandon Road in Riverstone, and the fast tracking of the Rouse Hill Hospital construction, which will deliver much-needed local jobs. Expanding commuter car parking at both heavy rail and metro stations, and funding local community facilities, will help improve our quality of life.
More money in the pockets of local workers means we are all better off.
