Today (January 5th, 2022) I wrote to NSW Minister for Health, Brad Hazzard and Prime Minister Scott Morrison regarding the temporary closures of testing clinics across NSW, including my Western Sydney electorate of Greenway, and the inaccessibility of rapid antigen tests (RATs).
Thousands of families are spending their Summers driving around for hours, in search for operating testing clinics and Rapid Antigen Tests, if they can afford them.
Healthcare workers across the country are grappling with unprecedented testing rates, forcing clinics to temporarily close to catch up with the backlog of testing.
I ask that the NSW Government make an urgent public clarification on:
- When will testing clinics re-open?
- Where can residents locate the updated hours for testing clinics?
- Will the Government provide accessible, affordable Rapid Antigen Tests for households, or prevent independent retailers from price-gouging?
These policy failures are creating personal problems of affordability and health.
We deserve better.
