Community and Cohesion Support Program – Applications now open

The Community Cohesion and Support Program (CCSP) grant round will open for applications at 06:00 am AEST on Thursday 6 June 2024 and close midnight, Friday 28 June 2024.

Under this program, Australian Palestinian, Muslim and Arab community-led grassroots organisations can apply for grants of up to $50,000 to undertake projects to respond to the particular needs of Australian Palestinian, Muslim and Arab communities affected by the Hamas-Israel conflict.

The CCSP will be administered through the SPG and is under the Australian Government’s $25 million social cohesion package.

The CCSP will provide funding for projects that:

  • promote a sense of belonging and connection, while building resilience and promoting social inclusion and cohesion;
  • strengthen whole-of-community engagement and the capacity within communities to address community needs;
  • creating emotional and social safety; and/or
  • focus on youth and women.

The CCSP is intended to provide grants to Palestinian, Muslim and Arab community grassroots organisations undertaking critical work to support their respective communities.

Priority will be given to small not-for-profit organisations who directly represent, or are able to demonstrate close existing relationships with, the communities affected by the ongoing conflict.

Collaborations between different organisations will be welcomed. Smaller organisations may wish to partner with larger organisations for example, or faith organisations with grassroot community organisations.

To be eligible to apply for a grant, you must be one of the following entity types:

  • Incorporated Association
  • Cooperative
  • Trustee on behalf of a trust
  • Statutory Entity
  • Partnership
  • Company (not-for-profit / charities)
  • Indigenous corporation

Organisations must have an Australian Business Number (ABN) in place and have an account with an Australian financial institution before applying for a grant or be willing to register for both prior to signing the grant agreement.
