Investing in A Future Made in Western Sydney
Labor has a plan to make more things in Australia and build a better future for Western Sydney.
Our Powering Australia Plan will leverage cheap renewable energy to place downwards pressure on power prices. This will help lower costs for manufacturers and small to medium businesses.
Cheaper energy will drive local jobs, skills and new growth industries, and our National Reconstruction Fund will amplify this by investing in local manufacturing to help scale growth.
This has great potential to support local businesses in sectors such as food manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, transport manufacturing, and 3D printing.
SBS Headquarters Relocation to Western Sydney
I’m dedicated to providing local jobs and important cultural infrastructure through the relocation of the SBS to Western Sydney.
Should a Labor Government be elected, we look forward to commissioning a feasibility study into the relocation of the SBS to Western Sydney, alongside the provision of a multi-purpose space for public use.
It is estimated that building a new SBS HQ in Western Sydney would create almost 400 construction jobs and generate $85 million for the Sydney economy.
Together, with the best plan for secure, well-paying jobs, we can create a better future for all.
