LABOR CONGRATULATES ETHNIC BUSINESS AWARDS WINNERS AND FINALISTS

09 November 2014

Labor congratulates the winners and finalists of the 26th Ethnic Business Awards which were announced in Brisbane last night.

The Ethnic Business Awards are Australia’s longest running business awards program and celebrate diversity and multiculturalism in Australian business.

Taking out this year’s Awards were:

  • Maxx Engineering - Amanda Healy (WA) - Indigenous Business Award
  • Republica Coffee - Jacqueline Arias (NSW) - Small Business Award
  • I & D Construction - Ivan Filipovic (VIC) - Medium to Large Business Award

All the finalists of this year’s Ethnic Business Awards are inspirational role models and they remind us of the great contribution multiculturalism makes to Australia.

In many circumstances these entrepreneurs have overcome seemingly insurmountable odds and now run businesses that are household names.

I congratulate this year’s award winners and finalists and also acknowledge the outstanding efforts of Ethnic Business Awards Founder and Chairman, Joseph Assaf OAM.

Labor is proud of Australia’s rich diversity and recognises the vital social, cultural and economic role multiculturalism plays in our society.
