Stop High Rises in Stanhope Gardens & Glenwood
Update: NSW Planning has announced that Glenwood and Stanhope Gardens will no longer be rezoned.
I am happy to share that NSW Planning has today announced that Glenwood and Stanhope Gardens will not be rezoned under the Transport Oriented Development (TOD) Program.
NSW Planning engaged in a thorough process which consulted broadly with the community. Following this process, it was clear that Glenwood and Stanhope Gardens should not be included.
As a result, there have been several changes made to the rezoning proposal.
These include:
- Removal of Glenwood and Stanhope Gardens from the rezoning proposal
- Increased capacity to enable 2,060 more homes close to the metro stations
- More flexible planning controls for key sites to encourage faster development
- Better public amenities, with more trees and additional landscaping
- More public open spaces.
The new proposal will come into effect on 27 November 2024.
Thank you to all of the local residents who helped in my push for change by making a submission to NSW Planning and signing my petition. Together, we have secured an important result for our local community.
