The Abbott Government has defunded and closed the doors of Blacktown Community Aid and Information Centre just days before Christmas.

This comes as the Government rips funds away from vital homelessness, community support and financial support services around the country.

Blacktown Community Aid has been serving Blacktown’s most vulnerable for over 40 years and has worked to help victims of domestic violence, Blacktown’s homeless and many more vulnerable and disadvantaged people.

Three days before Christmas Tony Abbott has slammed the door on the most vulnerable in our community and I condemn this cruel move which will have a devastating impact on the most underprivileged in Blacktown.

Ever since the election last year the Abbott Government has attacked the most disadvantaged in our community and continually broken its election promises.

This will be a hard Christmas for many Australians and it has been made harder because of Tony Abbott and his untrustworthy and cruel Government.
