A new survey from finder.com.au has found more than 1 in 3 NBN users would switch back to their old internet service if they could.

Separate research from Canstar Blue also found the percentage of households looking forward to switching to the NBN has dropped significantly over the last 12 months.

Only 43 per cent of respondents still on an ADSL or cable internet connection indicated they are looking forward to switching to the NBN, down from 62 per cent recorded a year ago.

These results are hardly a ringing endorsement of Malcolm Turnbull’s second-rate multi-technology mix.

Labor reiterates its call on the Turnbull Government to abandon deployment of its second-rate copper wherever feasible, and at a minimum take fibre to the curb.

At the time of the 2016 Census, the data upon which a sizeable segment of the NBN research was based, roughly 8 in 10 active users on the NBN were using Fibre to the Premises, with 1 in 10 active users being on the copper-based Fibre to the Node.
