Rouse Hill Hospital Now Under Construction
I am pleased to announce that Rouse Hill Hospital is now under construction.
After fighting alongside our community, the Minns Labor Government is getting on with the job of delivering Rouse Hill Hospital.
Thanks to our local campaigns and the support of the Albanese Labor Government, we have ensured that the hospital will open with an emergency department and full maternity services, backed by $120 million in funding.
The hospital will incorporate birthing services, key health worker accommodation, childcare services. It will also include:
- An emergency department and Primary Access Clinic;
- In-patient beds and day surgery services;
- Short stay medical assessment services;
- Pathology, pharmacy and medical imaging services;
- Outpatient and ambulatory care services including paediatrics, renal dialysis and antenatal and postnatal services;
- Virtual care and hospital in the home services; and
- Prehabilitation, rehabilitation and lifestyle medicine.
This is on top of the Albanese Labor Government’s $25 billion in additional funding for public hospitals, to ensure Australians can continue to access world class health care.
The Albanese Government is also helping to ease pressure on hospitals by delivering 137 Medicare Urgent Care Clinics - including the newly opened clinic at Rouse Hill Town Centre - alongside expanded bulk billing and cheaper medicines.
There’s more work to do, and I’ll keep working with the Minns Government and our local Labor team to improve health services across North West Sydney.
