Michelle Rowland MP, Federal Member for Greenway, is collecting donations of spare handbags and personal sanitary items as part of the ‘It’s in the Bag’ initiative.

‘It’s in the Bag’ is a Share the Dignity project which collects donations of spare handbags and distributes them with personal sanitary items to women in need.

Share the Dignity began in 2015 and is a campaign run across Australia to collect personal sanitary items for women experiencing hardship and fleeing family violence.

Michelle Rowland’s office in Seven Hills is again a drop off point for ‘It’s in the Bag’ this year, and will be accepting donations of spare handbags and women’s sanitary items.

“I encourage local residents to join the ‘It’s in the Bag’ initiative again this year to help support women who are doing it tough in our community ", Michelle Rowland said.

“Particularly as Christmas draws near, we are reminded of the importance of kindness, and donations to ‘It’s in the Bag’ directly help provide basic necessities to women in need over the festive season,” Ms Rowland said.

“I am always encouraged and humbled by the generosity and community spirit shown by local residents of all ages and backgrounds who open their hearts to those in need,” Ms Rowland said.
