MEDIA RELEASE - NATIONAL FLAGS AVAILABLE IN LEAD UP TO AUSTRALIA DAY - 16 JANUARY 2018

16 January 2018

Federal Member for Greenway, Michelle Rowland MP, would like to inform local groups and residents that official national flags are currently available at the Greenway Electorate Office in Seven Hills for eligible groups, schools and individuals.

The Australian Flag, the Australian Aboriginal Flag and the Torres Strait Islander Flag are all available in relevant sizes for eligible community groups, RSL clubs, schools, and individuals.

Our national flags help everyone in the community celebrate Australia’s story.

Locally, on Australia Day 2018, our newest citizens will be welcomed into the community at the Citizenship Ceremony in Blacktown, taking an important pledge of commitment and loyalty to our country.

“I would like to wish the entire community a happy Australia Day”, Federal Member for Greenway, Michelle Rowland said.

“It is an important occasion to reflect on Australia and what makes our nation a great place to live. It is also an opportunity to look forward together in the spirit of friendship and reconciliation.

“I hope local residents can come together and celebrate our harmonious and multicultural Australian story with family and friends,” Ms Rowland said.

Anyone seeking to obtain new flags is encouraged to contact Michelle Rowland’s office on 9671 4780 or at [email protected] to find out if they are eligible. Please note flags are limited in number.
